I have purchased a pattern from Etsy. This is a layered project that my mother wants to give to someone for Christmas. If this pattern turns out, I will place it in my store when it opens.

Session 2

First engraving --

Cut each layer out to see how big and wide the project will be.
-Start with 3 mm thick wood.
- Use plain wood instead of Laminate. I hope this will keep the costs down.
-- Try the original plan at 11 x 15 mm to see how big the project will be. Could the design get small and still look good?

I am using the following settings on the Aliencell Laser 40 W.
Engrave-- Power 65. Speed 225.
Cut -- Power 50 Speed 10. Run 2 passes

Trying First Engraving

The cutting-out setting was perfect. I didn't have any burnt or brown oils around the edges.
-- The engraving, I believe, needs to be a little darker. I think I need to up the speed to 275.
Follow-up- I need to keep the setting on the engraving speed to 275

Try upping the DPI/LPI instead. For example, if you have it at 250, set it to 275.

I don't see why you can't size it down. Just select all the layers at one time when you do.
