Privacy Notice

The Louisiana Hobby Guy, LLC

Privacy Notice

Effective date: August 6, 2026

The Louisiana Hobby Guy, LLC respects the privacy of people who visit or use The Hobby Guy Workshop. This Privacy Notice explains what information may be collected, why it is used, the choices available to members, and how to contact us.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Workshop, we may collect:

  • Account information: name, username, email address, password credentials stored securely by WordPress, account status, and beta-program records.
  • Maker Profile information: display name, location when provided, experience level, equipment, and profile image.
  • Member-created content: Projects, Project Sessions, Project Entries, descriptions, settings, photos, project files, external video links, comments, reactions, challenge entries, and Hall of Fame nominations.
  • Support and beta information: applications, feedback reports, screenshots, email-verification and activation records, release-note acknowledgments, checklist progress, and communications with the Workshop administrator.
  • Technical information: browser and device details, operating system information when available, screen size, requested pages, IP and security logs maintained by hosting or security providers, and error or performance information.

How we use information

Information is used to provide and secure account access, operate Workshop features, display content according to its privacy setting, send essential service and beta-program messages, respond to support requests, investigate errors or misuse, improve the Workshop, maintain backups, and meet legal obligations.

Public and private content

Members control whether Projects and supported content are Public or Private using the controls provided by the Workshop. Public content may be viewed, discussed, or shared by other members. Private content remains limited to the account owner and authorized administrators, except when access is required to provide support, investigate a report, protect the service, or comply with law.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Workshop uses cookies and browser storage that are necessary for sign-in, security, fraud prevention, session continuity, saved preferences, forms, and essential WordPress operation. These necessary technologies cannot be disabled through a consent banner because the Workshop may not function correctly without them.

The Workshop does not require optional advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies to provide its core features. If optional analytics, embedded media, advertising, or other nonessential tracking is added later, an appropriate consent and preference system will be provided before those technologies are activated where required.

Service providers and external services

Information may be processed by vendors that help operate the Workshop, including web hosting, database and backup services, email delivery, security, AI assistance, and optional image-processing services. The exact providers may change as the Workshop evolves. These providers receive only the information reasonably needed to perform their services and are subject to their own privacy and security terms.

External video links and other links may open websites operated by third parties such as YouTube, Vimeo, cloud-storage providers, or similar services. Their privacy practices apply after you leave the Workshop. The Workshop generally links to these services rather than embedding or hosting their videos.

Sale or sharing of personal information

The Louisiana Hobby Guy, LLC does not sell members' personal information to advertisers. Personal information is not shared for cross-context behavioral advertising through the core Workshop features.

Data retention

Account and member-created information may be retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, legal, backup, dispute-resolution, and operational purposes. Some deleted information may remain temporarily in backups or logs until those systems are rotated. Information may be retained longer when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

Your choices and privacy rights

Members can update profile information, change passwords, control Project visibility, remove eligible content, and submit a Data Deletion Request. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, a copy, restriction, objection, or deletion of personal information. Requests are reviewed and identity verification may be required before action is taken.

Submitting a Data Deletion Request asks us to cancel the Workshop membership and remove associated access, Projects, Project Sessions, Project Entries, photos, files, comments, and other account data, subject to legal and technical retention requirements.

Children's privacy

The Workshop is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly request accounts from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information should contact us.

Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect Workshop information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Members should use unique passwords, keep credentials private, and sign out on shared devices.

International and regional users

The Workshop is operated from the United States. Users in California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions may have additional privacy rights under local law. We will evaluate verified requests in light of the laws that apply to the Workshop and the requester.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated as the Workshop, its features, or legal requirements change. The effective date shown above identifies the current version.
